Externalities
The Credit Agricole S.A. Group has had a responsible procurement policy for many years. This consists of including environmental principles (eco-design) and social principles (human rights, outsourcing to the disability-friendly sector) in its specifications. Suppliers are also asked to show that their products meet eco-design and social standards.
THE INTEGRATION OF CSR CRITERIA
For example, we factor sustainable development criteria into Group actions related to energy (energy efficiency certificates, use of renewable energies, etc.). In that way, the Group Informational Services and Operations department takes sustainable development issues into account by committing to provide IT, collaborative tools and community-based products that combine energy efficiency and performance, so as to reduce the impact of IT and telecommunications on the environment.
THE RESORT TO PROTECTED SECTOR
In addition to direct measures encouraging the employment of handicapped persons, the use of adapted and protected sector services (Etablissements et Services d’Aide par le Travail, Entreprises Adaptées) has been developed with the support of the Group’s Procurement department, adopting an approach that reconciles social responsibility and the need for economic effectiveness.
