Distributing more than 2,500 home loans per day to retail clients, Crédit Agricole is committed to the French housing market on an everyday level. Today, one in four people in France with a home loan have placed their trust in us. In addition to buying their home, nearly two out of five customers use us to finance energy-saving works in the home.
The Group's real estate development
With its specialist subsidiary Crédit Agricole Immobilier, the Group completed close to 2,000 homes in 2009. Crédit Agricole's real estate business helps to develop housing supply in France, including new homes, student residences and social housing. Crédit Agricole Immobilier provides support in people's day-to-day lives and also works on schools and hospitals.

Financing social housing using funds raised from Livret A deposits
In 2009, Crédit Agricole collected €12.4 billion and opened close to 4 million Livret A savings accounts, giving it market share in terms of the number of accounts of over 47% of the open market of the new banks distributing the savings accounts. In accordance with the aims of the Livret A scheme, a portion of the deposits collected are used to finance the construction of social housing.
