Spotlight on Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation initiatives in 2011
The Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation has published its annual report for 2011.
The outcome of a unique partnership formed in 2008 between Crédit Agricole and Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Foundation makes a specific contribution to the fight against poverty in developing countries by spearheading the development of microfinance institutions and social business* companies through appropriate financing.
As at 31 December 2011, the Foundation’s partner members totalled 1.2 million borrowers, 91% of them female, and 74% of whom live in rural areas.
