Controlling our business travel
Following the carbon balance carried out in 2008, Crédit Agricole looked at how it could reduce its transport-related CO2 emissions by tightening up the rules on staff travel.
The Corporate Travel Plan: sustainable management of business travel
Crédit Agricole introduced a Corporate Travel Plan in 2009.
A full-scale corporate project, the Plan encourages responsible management of business travel, combining respect for the environment with quality of life and economic competitiveness.
The Plan comprises a set of measures designed to limit the environmental impact of staff travel, including the promotion of alternatives to car travel, the encouragement of car pooling, etc.
Our aim is to reduce transport-related CO2emissions by 20% by 2012.
A stricter travel policy
At Crédit Agricole, we now keep a closer eye on business travel. Among other measures, we encourage videoconferencing and are switching to greener vehicles for our company fleet.
Many Group companies (Crédit Agricole S.A., Crédit Agricole CIB, Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance, CACEIS, Crédit Agricole Immobilier, Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring, Crédit Agricole Serbie) have introduced car pooling schemes and set up specific intranet sites for employees.
