Our carbon balances: a proactive approach
To find out more about its environmental impact, in 2008 Crédit Agricole carried out an initial carbon balance of all its establishments in the Paris region. Since then we have been studying all the means at our disposal to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in the long term.

The carbon balance methodology devised by Ademe, the French environment and energy management agency, is a way of calculating the greenhouse gas emissions generated by an activity. Once the diagnosis is complete, practical steps can be taken to reduce emissions.
Using the method, in 2008 Crédit Agricole evaluated the environmental impact of its activities on all its sites in Paris and the Paris region. The audit covered 45 buildings used by various Group entities.
