Being there when life is hard
True to our history and our values, in France as elsewhere, at Crédit Agricole we aim to provide a service suited to all our customers, including the most fragile.
Acting in our customers' best interests
As a universal and mutualist bank, Crédit Agricole aims to serve all its customers, including those who are having a hard time. That is why we have set up Points Passerelle , support centres providing a framework for listening and mediation with an input of banking and financial know-how in order to help customers in difficulty.
Supporting the customers of our international subsidiaries
In Italy , the Cariparma FriulAdria group has come up with an anti-crisis plan. Called Cariparma si può (With Cariparma, you can) the service helps customers to get through the current difficult times with measures like deferred repayments, soft loans and advances on wages or unemployment benefit.
Over 15,000 customers have taken advantage of the initiative to date.
In Madagascar , our local bank BNI Madagascar gives customers easier access to credit through one- or two-year personalised mini-credits , according to their needs and capacity to make repayments.
Helping farming industries in crisis
In 2009, true to our policy of supporting farming and food industries in difficulty, we stepped up our commitments and initiatives for our traditional client base.
The Agriculture Ministry, backed up by Crédit Agricole, has introduced support measures to help farmers suffering from the economic crisis.
For example, we made loans worth €244 million under the 2008-09 Barnier Plan .
In 2010, Crédit Agricole will also take part in the special agriculture support plan , under which bank loans worth a total of €1 billion will be made available to improve the financial position of French farmers.
Given Crédit Agricole's importance in financing agriculture, the government has given it major responsibility for distributing these loans.
