Solidarity is central to our mutualist values

Crédit Agricole recognises its corporate social responsibilities and is actively involved in community efforts to address the plight of the disenfranchised in France today. Our commitments are reflected in our actions to help the poorest people to become reintegrated into society and in our support to housing and training for young people.

Giving instead of discarding; reclaiming instead of wasting

Since 2007, Crédit Agricole S.A. has supported Dons Solidaires, a pioneer in product donations in France [ajouter un lien hypertexte derrière "product donations". The Dons Solidaires association receives donations from large corporations of new basic consumer items that are no longer saleable and were to be destroyed. It then passes them on to charities that help the disadvantaged. Crédit Agricole has helped Dons Solidaires to expand its scope of action vis-à-vis the donor corporations.

Dons Solidaires represents:

  • €11m of goods distributed over 5 years (hygiene and maintenance products, school supplies, toys, small appliances, clothing, etc.)
  • A network of 120 partner charities in France
  • 200,000 disadvantaged people helped each year

Promoting social reintegration through team sports

Equipe de France - Coupe du monde des sans abris

Remise en Jeu helps the homeless to regain their dignity and to re-socialise them through team sports and the encounters they generate with others. This group of collective charities organises football competitions and participates in the annual World Cup for the Homeless. Crédit Agricole, a major sponsor of French football, naturally supports Remise en Jeu.

Through Remise en Jeu:

  • Over 80% of team members developed greater respect for themselves and for others;
  • 53% of team members improved their housing situation;
  • 20% of team members found jobs.

Figures from a study carried out by Remise en Jeu.

Worth knowing: in France, 70 football teams were created within social welfare organisations.

  • Nearly €1m for 28 Solidarité et Logement projects over two years
  • €300,000 for a community programme to help poor families in partnership with Fédération Habitat et Humanisme
