Supporting education
At Crédit Agricole, where education for all means equal opportunity and access to jobs, we concentrate our efforts on three areas: introducing children to economics, helping to prevent student failure and supporting higher education.
Sponsoring educational publications on economics
Crédit Agricole S.A., alongside CODICE (Conseil pour la diffusion de la culture économique), supports Play Bac, which publishes Dico Eco, a mini-dictionary of economics for secondary school students.
In 2008, Crédit Agricole provided funding to publish L’argent expliqué aux enfants, a booklet for children age 8 to 12, which explains money in simple, entertaining terms.
These two projects help raise children's awareness of current world economic issues.
Circulation in schools:
- L’argent expliqué aux enfants 10,000 copies;
- Dico Eco 100,000 copies;
with our sponsorship.

Helping children to explore the role of microfinance in fighting poverty
Crédit Agricole and the Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation teamed up with Bayard Presse during Sustainable Development Week 2010.
For this event, four special reports on two microfinance institutions in Mali were written and circulated to young audiences. The reports were later published in Pomme d’Api, Astrapi, Okapi and Phosphore magazines, thereby reaching 2,500,000 young readers.
An educational booklet on microfinance for parents and young people was also circulated to the 900,000 subscribers of Jeunesse magazine in France.
Improving chances of success for disadvantaged youth
Since 2007, Crédit Agricole has worked with the Un Avenir Ensemble foundation to give deserving children from disadvantaged backgrounds greater chances of success. To achieve this goal, the Foundation has set up various scholarships and sponsorships to support these young people from the time they leave secondary school until they find a job. This partnership is an extension of the Group's actions to promote diversity in the workplace.
Helping secondary school students
- 150 students sponsored in 2006
- 300 students sponsored in 2008
- 400 students sponsored in 2009

- as one of the 12 partners to the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), Crédit Agricole is sponsoring a scientific research project and helping to encourage important economists who have moved abroad to return to France.
- through its association with Fondation HEC, Crédit Agricole sponsors the business management sciences and more specifically, research and development of teaching techniques.
