Ratings: Crédit Agricole well-placed in benchmark indices
At Crédit Agricole, we carry out an active social and environmental responsibility (SER) policy in compliance with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which we signed up to in 2003. We are regularly rewarded by non-financial rating agencies for our initiatives.
Recognition for a progressive approach
Each year, non-financial rating agencies rate Crédit Agricole S.A. on its social and environmental responsibility policy.
These independent agencies share the conviction that the social and environmental aspects of a firm's activity influence its long-term financial performance.
With creators of stock-market indices, they have therefore devised indices that evaluate firms on the basis of social, environmental and governance criteria. These non-financial indices now include the world's leading companies in terms of sustainable development.
One of the first to place these social, environmental and governance criteria at the heart of its strategy, Crédit Agricole has been included in the following benchmark sustainable development indices :
- ASPI Eurozone since 2004
- FTSE4Good since 2005
- DJSI since 2008
- Development initiatives in five countries in West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Togo) and two in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco)
- In West Africa: 7 professional organisations in the agricultural sector to increase food security and support over 1,700 small farmers
- In North Africa: water management training for over 200 small farmers
