Environmental management at
Crédit Agricole Immobilier

Crédit Agricole Immobilier has been engaged in a drive to develop and implement environmentally friendly policies since 2006. The company expanded its involvement and its achievements in this area in 2007 by creating a Head of Sustainable Development position and securing ISO 14001 certification. In 2008, Crédit Agricole Immobilier’s initiatives in this field will be on a broader scope.

A strong commitment to the environment

As the Group’s centre of expertise in property, Crédit Agricole Immobilier is active in every segment of the real estate business except financing. It is responsible for managing our offices at five sites in the Ile de France area, i.e. slightly over 500,000 sq.m.

Although Crédit Agricole Immobilier has only recently embraced an environmental approach, it is strongly committed and has stepped up its efforts by appointing a Head of Sustainable Development in 2007, who will be responsible for rolling out environmental and social responsibility (ESR) actions within the subsidiary, in cooperation with Crédit Agricole’s Sustainable Development Task Force.

ISO 14001 certification : A driving force

The ISO 14001 certification obtained by the Sites and Services segment in 2007 bears witness to Crédit Agricole Immobilier’s growing commitment to ESR and has triggered a whole series of actions.

To enhance its control over its environmental impact, the company has appointed an Environment correspondent in charge of applying ISO 14001 procedures and has set up an Environment Quality Management unit responsible for improving the energy efficiency of our buildings in the Ile de France area.

To bring our offices in compliance with best-in-class standards, Crédit Agricole Immobilier has harmonised procedures for reporting on consumption in all the sites that it manages.

To involve employees and suppliers in this approach, the company has implemented selective waste collection, installed over 25,000 new office bins and added environmental clauses in all service contracts.

2008 : Broader scope of reporting

In the field of day-to-day initiatives, works or reporting, Crédit Agricole Immobilier has been continuing and building on these actions in 2008. The scope of monitoring energy and water consumption will be extended beyond the current Ile de France area to cover all the buildings of Group Crédit Agricole S.A. in France, Greece and Poland.

Focus

For several years now, Crédit Agricole Immobilier has been devoting substantial efforts, in each of its business lines, to programmes that take into account sustainable development considerations.
