Amundi appointments

Several appointments have been made to Amundi's Executive Committee, chaired by Yves Perrier. The new members are:

 

-       Pedro Antonio Arias, Head of Specialised Investment (Private Equity and Real Estate) 

-       Valérie Baudson, Global Head of ETF and Index Equity Management 

-       Pierre Cailleteau, Head of Institutional Clients and Sovereign Entities 

-       Christophe Lemarié, Chief Executive Officer of Société Générale Gestion and of Wealth Management and Asset Preservation Solutions for partner networks 

-       Jean-Eric Mercier, Chief Executive Officer of CPR AM

 

In addition, Frédéric Samama has been appointed Deputy Head of Institutional Clients and Sovereign Entities.

Pedro Antonio Arias

Pedro Antonio started his career in 1994 in a law firm. In 1997, he moved to corporate and investment banking in various leading institutions, notably at Rothschild & Cie where he specialised in equity restructuring transactions, working for clients in France and abroad in banking, real estate and industrial sectors.

In 2010, he moved to the Casino group where he was Deputy CEO in charge of international development and real estate.

Pedro Antonio joined Amundi in June 2013 as head of Specialised Investments (Private Equity and Real Estate).

Born in 1971, Pedro Antonio is a law graduate of the Paris V René Descartes University and of ESSEC business school.

 

Valérie Baudson

Valérie Baudson started her career in 1995 at Banque Indosuez, managing international audit missions. In 1999, she moved to Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux, where she was later appointed Corporate Secretary and a member of the Management Committee from 2001 to 2004.

In 2004, she became Marketing Director and a member of the European Management Committee of Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux.

Valérie joined Amundi in 2008 to launch and develop Amundi's ETF expertise. She was appointed head of ETF and Index Equity Management in 2013.

Born in 1971, Valérie is a graduate of HEC (Haute Ecole de Commerce, Paris).

 

Pierre Cailleteau

Pierre Cailleteau started his career in 1989 as an economist at the Banque de France.

He then became an international civil servant, working as the advisor to the French Executive Director of the IMF in Washington, before moving on to the Banque de France where he was head of the Financial Stability department.

From 1999 to 2002, he took part in the creation of the Financial Stability Board, the international financial regulatory body, at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

From 2002 to 2004, he was head of country risk at Calyon (CACIB).

In 2004, he was appointed Global Head of Sovereign Ratings at Moody's in London for six years.

From 2010 to 2013, he was a Managing Director at Lazard in the sovereign advisory team.

Pierre joined Amundi in early November 2013 as head of Institutional Clients and Sovereign Entities.

Born in 1964, Pierre is a graduate of Sciences Po (IEP Paris) and holds master's degrees in public and commercial law.

 

Christophe Lemarié

Christophe Lemarié started his career in 1995 as a Credit Analyst at Crédit Lyonnais Americas in New York. In 1997, he moved to asset management, first in the Financial Engineering team of Crédit Lyonnais Asset Management (CLAM), then as Head of Marketing at CLAM and later at CAAM (Crédit Agricole Asset Management) after the CAAM-CLAM merger in 2004. In 2006, he was appointed Head of Equities, Allocation and Arbitrage.

In 2010, Christophe took over the management of Société Générale Gestion, the subsidiary dedicated to the clients of the Société Générale network, first as Deputy CEO before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2012.

In 2012, he was also appointed head of Wealth Management and Asset Preservation Solutions for partner networks at Amundi.

Born in 1969, Christophe is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, and has an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications.

 

Jean-Eric Mercier

Jean-Eric Mercier started his career in 1986. From 1987 to 1992, he was in charge of the options and futures department of the brokerage firm of Européenne d'Intermédiation Financière et Boursière.

He then became a Management and Strategy consultant to several financial institutions and leading European asset managers.

In 1996, he was appointed Vice President at A.T. Kearney (Paris) for five years. He then became Senior Vice President at Mercer Olivier Wyman.

From 2003 to 2009, Jean-Eric was the Chairman and CEO of Fidelity Investissements SAS and Fidelity Gestion in Paris. He joined Amundi in 2009 as Chief Executive Officer of the subsidiary CPR AM.

Born in 1961, Jean-Eric has an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris and also sits on the board of directors of AFG (the French Asset Management Association).

  

Frédéric Samama

Frédéric Samama started his career in 1991 at JP Morgan as head of Institutional Sales and Research on Convertible Bonds. From 1993 to 1997, he was head of Equity Derivative Sales and Research at CA Cheuvreux.

He later moved to CA-CIB where he was in charge of the Corporate Equity Derivatives department, first in Paris, then in New York as from 2007. He notably developed the first global leveraged Employee Share Purchase Programmes (ESPP) on the international stage.

Frédéric joined Amundi in New York in 2009 as head of Investment Solutions, North America. In 2012, he moved to Amundi Paris as deputy head of Sovereign Entities. In November 2013, he was appointed deputy head of Institutional Clients and Sovereign Entities.

Throughout his career, Frédéric has also worked as an advisor to several government institutions, including the French government and the French securities regulator (AMF), and has taken part in part in the works of the US State Department.

He also founded the Sovereign Wealth Fund Research Initiative (SWF RI) in 2009.

Born in 1969, Frédéric is a graduate of the ESC Rouen Business School and of the Stanford Executive Program.
