Paris, 20th November 2007

Berthold von Stauffenberg has been appointed Managing Director in Corporate Finance, reporting directly to François Kayat, Managing Director and Head of the Corporate Finance Department. As such, he will be responsible for the origination and execution of Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance advisory mandates. Given his background, he will have a particular focus on developing Calyon's investment banking franchise in Germany.

Berthold began his career at Hambros Bank London in 1987 in their Corporate Finance department. In 1991, he moved to Groupe Générale des Eaux in Paris, where he worked in Corporate Development for CBC. In 1993 he joined Financière Indosuez, the Mergers & Acquisitions activity of Banque Indosuez. In 1997 he joined Rothschild, as part of the Paris and Frankfurt based transaction teams. Most recently, he acted as Managing Director and Member of the German Executive Committee.

Aged 44, Berthold is a graduate of London University (Economics) and holds an MBA from INSEAD.


Laurent Leriche has been appointed Director in Global Consumer, reporting to Pierre Moraillon, Managing Director in charge of the Global Consumer Group. As such, he will head the Food and Beverage sector within Calyon's Global Investment Banking.

Prior to joining Calyon, Laurent Leriche worked for over six years at Danone Group, where he has successively been in charge of Mergers and Acquisitions for Western Europe and North America and of Partnerships for the Group. Before Danone, Laurent held Mergers and Acquisitions positions with French industrial group Valeo, and at Lehman Brothers, Hill Samuel Bank and Société Générale.

Aged 41, Laurent Leriche is a graduate of Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
