Eric Cochard has been appointed Head of Sustainable Development. Reporting directly to the Corporate Secretariat, he will coordinate Sustainable Development actions within Calyon and its subsidiaries worldwide.
Issues of social and environmental responsibility are major priorities for Calyon and this appointment is part of the Credit Agricole S.A. Group's ongoing commitment to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
Mr Cochard has spent the majority of his career within the group, as engineering consultant in the Crédit Lyonnais' Industrial and Sector Research unit from 1989 to 1997 and as Project Finance business manager and then head of the Mining and Metals unit at Calyon from 1997 to 2007. He was also Head of the Equator Principles Coordination Unit from July 2003.
Eric Cochard, 49, has an engineering doctorate in mining from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris.
