Mohammed Agoumi has been appointed Deputy Head of International Development, reporting to Jean-Frédéric de Leusse, Deputy CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A.

Mohammed Agoumi, 51, graduated from the ESSEC business school in 1979 and earned a post-graduate degree in mathematical economics and econometrics in 1980. He is also a chartered accountant (graduated in 1993).

He started his career with ESSEC as a teaching assistant and then assistant professor at the economics department for two years.

He moved to the audit department of Peat Marwick (KPMG), where he spent seven years specialising in audit and advice for financial institutions.

Mr Agoumi joined Eurogroup in 1987, becoming a partner in 1990 and taking over as head of the banking and finance division in 1997. He undertook strategy and change management assignments on behalf of leading French banks.

Since 1 March 2006, Mohammed Agoumi has served as Deputy CEO of LCL, with a seat on the Crédit Agricole S.A. Executive Committee.
