National caregivers day: Crédit Agricole Assurances is continuing to develop its commitment to support caregivers, funding 18 new association projects

Committed to supporting volunteer or family caregivers since 2010, Crédit Agricole Assurances is today reaffirming its concrete actions with French associations that support the four million caregivers in France. Following a second national call for projects, 18 new association initiatives are being funded.

Thanks to Crédit Agricole's Regional Banks, almost 200 association projects, twice as many as in 2011, were put forward with this second call for projects looking to enable associations to develop, secure or propose new actions to support caregivers. This confirms the very high level of requirements in this area, as well as the dynamic development of associations working to empower caregivers to perform their role in supporting dependent people.

The 18 projects have been selected for their genuine lasting impacts for caregivers, as well as their original and innovative features. Based on a total budget of €300,000, they will receive funding for one to three years, in line with the needs expressed for support.

Crédit Agricole Assurances’ concrete commitment alongside volunteer or family caregivers is also illustrated by its support for the short television programme “La minute des aidants” (Caregivers’ Minute), shown on France 5 at 3pm Monday to Friday in September and October.

Associations selected in 2012 and their projects:

About Crédit Agricole Assurances' commitment to supporting family caregivers and volunteers

Caregivers and insurers are central to some of the common issues facing society today, from the ageing of the population to long-term-care and solidarity. That is why Crédit Agricole Assurances has chosen to make a concrete commitment to support family caregivers and volunteers. To achieve this, it is carrying out three main actions:

  • A call for projects in order to directly fund local support actions carried out by associations;
  • "Caregivers' minute": a short television programme providing useful advice for caregivers and raising public awareness of this cause;
  • A website, www.etreaidant.com, aimed at both associations and caregivers.
