2018 European Heritage Days
Crédit Agricole continues its involvement in natural and architectural heritage by partnering for the third year in a row with the European Heritage Days, organised by the Ministry of Culture. This year’s theme, “The Art of Sharing”, will especially resonate on these days, as 2018 has been declared the “European Year of Cultural Heritage". This will be the 35th year for this event, which is firmly focussed on cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and the appreciation of best practices to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage.
These days are an opportunity for Crédit Agricole, a pioneer of sponsorship in France, to demonstrate its determination to be engaged on a daily basis with associations, communities and citizens who give their time to support the culture of the regions of France. Crédit Agricole’s regional branches are active in the life of their regions, promoting local heritage and supporting numerous projects each year. The Fondation Crédit Agricole-Pays de France, recognised as a general-purpose foundation, enhances the cultural heritage sponsorship initiatives of the regional branches by making contributions and giving them national exposure. Their joint actions have supported more than 1,300 projects since 1979 for a total of more than €40 million in funding.
More than 17,000 places will be open to 12 million visitors throughout France on these European Heritage Days, reflecting the concern of French citizens for their cultural heritage and demonstrating the importance of sustaining and appreciating the architectural, cultural and natural heritage of our regions.
