At the initiative of the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, an international coalition of key players in inclusive finance has published a charter of best practices to support microfinance institutions and their customers during the Covid-19 crisis. The aim is to protect these institutions by guaranteeing their ongoing access to funding, in the best conditions possible. Why is this important? Globally, microfinance institutions serve more than 140 million customers on low incomes by financing their activities... In the context of the Covid-19 crisis, micro-businesses and small businesses from the traditional economy are a key component of economic and social recovery. Supporting the institutions that finance them is therefore of crucial importance in order to protect the most vulnerable borrowers. Who are the signatories? Crédit Agricole S.A., Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, Crédit Agricole CIB India and CA Indosuez Wealth (Asset Management) have committed to this initiative, alongside 16 international microfinance players*. *ADA, Alterfin, Cerise, CIDR Pamiga, Cordaid Investment Management, European Microfinance Network, FS Impact Finance, InFiNe.lu, Inpulse, Luxembourg Microfinance And Development Fund, MCE Social Capital, Microfinance Center, Rabo Foundation, SIDI, SIMA and Social Performance Task Force
