Compagnie du Kaïros returned for special performances at Crédit Agricole du Languedoc with “Je suis trop vert”, a new play designed to introduce young sixth-graders to the rural world.

After a general plebiscite, the Regional Bank brought the Compagnie du Kaïros back from November 21th to 28th, while expanding its audience to middle school students in its four departments (in Narbonne, Lattes, Nîmes and Mende) around a new theme designed to introduce them to the rural world.

History

The hero sent to the green class is housed in a family of peasants running a small farm where he discovers the harshness of rural life: wake-up at dawn, direct relation with the land, contact with animals, control of agricultural machines...

An experience that will allow him to return home with a new look at agricultural work and also a new ecological and social consciousness.

The tour

Seven performances were held in 15 schools, representing more than 1,200 students, a great opportunity for the branches and their local banks involved to participate in the “rural” learning of young students.

The performances were enthusiastically welcome, both among students and teachers, as well as employees and elected representatives.

Some Verbatim

On the school leaders’ side:

“I thank you for this visit, which is also an enrichment for our institution and which strengthens its place in the city.”

On the teachers’ side:

“It was really great and age-appropriate. We didn’t hear the children for 1 hour, it’s so rare. They were captivated!”

On the student side:

“It was too funny, especially the little sister’s voice.”
“It was great, plus it’s in the high school where I’ll go when I grow up.”
“In what class are the actresses in?”
“It was too much, more than that, I’m attending the acting workshop at the Collège. But anyway, I'm not that strong.”
“I didn’t know what theatre was, so I loved it. Thank you for inviting us.”

On employees and elected representatives’ side:

“We get a lot of thanks from all sides. It gives us the feeling that we are useful and contribute to the development of young schoolchildren and openness to culture.”

Performances were also reported in the local press and some students were particularly proud to answer questions from journalists.

This fine initiative is part of Crédit Agricole du Languedoc’s drive to make art accessible to everyone, especially young people.

* The Kaïros shows are based on the writing of original texts by David Lescot and a staging that mixes text, music and singing with always the same stage device, a kind of playing box scattered with traps and openings, suitable to make or break all sorts of places in a few seconds.
