The International Confederation of Agricultural Credit (CICA) chooses Switzerland for its 2018 Congress
This CICA* event, which gathered 150 participants, was recently held in Bern. The programme included site visits (a traditional farm, a biscuit company and an agricultural machine manufacturer) to learn about the various aspects of agriculture, with a visit to a traditional farm and an organic and conventional vegetable grower; agrifood; and Swiss agricultural service companies. On the following days, there was a succession of speakers, including Philippe Brassac, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole S.A., on developments in the world of banking and finance ; Bertrand Corbeau, Deputy General Manager of Crédit Agricole S.A., on innovation and the outlook for agricultural development ; and Jérôme Brunel, Corporate Secretary of Crédit Agricole S.A., as moderator.
Created in 1950, CICA brings together banks and other institutions committed to financing agriculture and the rural world. CICA is aimed at the elected leaders and CEOs of these institutions to guide their agricultural financing policy; encourage exchanges and dialogue between them; and help them innovate and improve financial services geared towards agriculture and the rural sector. Crédit Agricole is a founding member of CICA, whose first president was Louis Tardy. The current CICA president is Jean-Marie Sander.
