Compliance and international sanction risks: heightened vigilance

Compliance and international sanction risks: heightened vigilance - Crédit Agricole

THE ISSUE

A highly topical issue and a key concern for the businesses, international sanctions (embargoes and asset freezes) call for extreme vigilance. Any lack of compliance brings with it the risk of major financial and disciplinary sanctions. Moreover, these are complex issues, stemming from different legal systems and geographical regions.

OUR RESPONSE

All Group employees attended training on compliance risks in the first half of 2015. The training supplements their knowledge on the 14 key issues and the rules specific to their businesses. Addressing these complex issues, the training helps them to understand and respect the various prevailing laws. In addition, the training programme as a whole creates an environment conducive to control. To further boost responsiveness, employees are informed on the behaviour to be adopted in the event of any dysfunction.
