Dealing with dependency - Crédit Agricole

180,000

people insured (2014)

THE ISSUE

The number of dependent individuals, of all ages, is set to grow rapidly in the near future. Supporting these people and relieving their loved ones are two of the key issues of the start of the century.

OUR RESPONSE

In France, nearly eight million people help on a volunteer basis adults and children who are struggling owing to their dependency. The Group provides a number of solutions to deal with this issue. Crédit Agricole Assurances now holds a 20% share in Korian-Medica, a major player in housing for dependent seniors, part of whose debt has been refinanced by Crédit Agricole CIB and six Regional Banks.

Crédit Agricole Assurances has also developed a new offering to offset the loss of autonomy: financial support and home services to relieve the efforts of family of friend caregivers. At end-2014 some 180,000 people were already insured. In parallel, the insurer has financed local projects by organizations in favour of caregivers since 2010.
