Gender equality index

The issue

Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labour, and Marlène Schiappa, State Secretary for equality between Women and Men and the fight against discrimination , announced the creation of the gender equality index, on November 2018, to put an end to unjustified wage gap. This index enables companies to measure their progress in this area and, where appropriate, to implement corrective measures. 

 
Objective : eliminate the gender wage gap

The 5 measurements indicators are: 

  • Wage gap between women and men, at comparable positions and ages
  • Gap in individual wage increase
  • Gap in promotions between women and men
  • Wage increase on return from maternity leave
  • Gendered distribution of the ten employees with the highest remuneration

  

Key figures

After several years of commitment and initiatives in the field of professional equity, the Crédit Agricole S.A. group obtained very positive ratings:

  • 84/100 for the economic and social unit (ESU) Crédit Agricole S.A.*
  • Between 77 and 93/100 for the other legal entities of the Crédit Agricole S.A. group.

 

Our response:

A strong emphasis is placed on the gender mix policy at Crédit Agricole S.A. Group level, with a challenge in terms of increasing the number of women in the Group's management bodies and raising awareness among all our employees.
 
Divided by target (all employees, young talents, potential managers, managers), it is deployed around concrete projects (development of “Réseau mixité” – diversity network , gender equality guide book’s distribution, training for our young female talents, mentoring, administrator.rice role’s training).
 
These action complete many initiatives taken by Group’s entities over the past several years. This “Plan d’action Mixité” – Diversity action Plan- also marks a very strong commitment and a concrete investment from managers.

 

*The Crédit Agricole S.A. economic and social unit is made up of the Crédit Agricole S.A. companies (corporate entity), Foncaris, Pleinchamps, Progica, Crédit Agricole Capital Investment and Finance (CACIF), IDIA, SODICA et Crédit Agricole Payment Services, and represented 2 652 employees on December 31, 2018.
