Jean-François Balaÿ began his career in corporate markets at Crédit Lyonnais in 1989, and went on to hold a number of managerial posts in London, Paris and in Asia. In 2001 he joined Crédit Lyonnais’ Loan Syndication business line, first as Head of Origination for Europe and then for Western Europe at Calyon in 2004. In 2006 he was appointed Deputy to the Head of Loan Syndication for EMEA and in April 2009 became Global Head of Loan Syndication at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank. In 2012, he was appointed Head of the Debt Optimisation and Distribution Department. In April 2016, he became Head of Risk Management and Permanent Controls. He was appointed Deputy General Manager of Crédit Agricole CIB in July 2018.
Jean-François Balaÿ has a Masters degree in Economics and Management as well as a postgraduate diploma in Banking and Finance from Lumière Lyon II University.
