Protecting customers

Complying with customers’ interests via transparent marketing

Within the Crédit Agricole Group, new products, activities and services are analysed by internal NAP committees. These committees are specific to each business line in France and abroad and consist of representatives from the Compliance, Legal Affairs and Permanent Control and Risk Divisions. These committees meet to ensure that all the products and activities offered by the distribution networks comply with laws and regulations on the clarity of information provided to customers, product suitability, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism, fraud prevention, codes of conduct, internal banking and financial procedures, etc.

Personal data protection

Crédit Agricole S.A. has created a compliance system for all its French subsidiaries based on the principles and obligations set out by the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) on the protection of personal data belonging to employees, customers or any related third party.
In order to conform to the CNIL's preliminary requirements, Crédit Agricole S.A. has implemented a mutual discussion forum with Group entities so it can suggest reporting and authorisation request templates. A system of exchange has also been set up for Crédit Agricole’s network of Regional Banks. As a general rule, any new information or application system must, from the outset, make provision for personal data protection and banking secrecy measures pertaining to customers or, more generally, related third parties.
