CACIB employees choose winner of eleventh “Deals of the Year”
The Deals of the Year ceremony, which recognises the most iconic deals of the past year, was held on 12 March. The event was attended by Philippe Brassac, CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A. and Chairman of CACIB, and Xavier Musca, Deputy CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A. and CEO of CACIB. The winner was chosen by CACIB employees from among six finalists following a voting campaign last month.

The 2024 winner was the “Artémis” deal. CACIB acted as Underwriter, Mandated Lead Arranger, Bookrunner and Facility Agent for the acquisition by Artémis* of the world’s leading talent and sports agency, Creative Artists Agency. Artémis also appointed CACIB to serve as financial advisor for this cross-border transaction.
* A holding company controlled by the Pinault family.
In brief

Starting in March, LCL bank cards for personal customers are getting a facelift, with a new, cleaner design. But that’s not all. As part of an environmentally responsible approach, the new range uses recycled PVC, cards will be valid for four years instead of three, and the carbon impact of card production will be offset through a carbon-neutral programme. New Visa Premier, Cleo and Business cards will start to be issued to LCL customers this week.
En Bref - séparation
Crédit Agricole des Savoie recently launched its fourth call for projects backed by its endowment fund. The campaign, dubbed “Agir pour l’Avenir des Savoie” (“Taking action for the future of Savoie”), aims to support local projects focused on identified priorities connected with the bank’s commitment to society and cooperative values. Between 7 and 12 winning projects will be chosen around the theme of “Developing innovative ideas to help Savoie residents optimise the sustainable management of water or become more aware of this scarce resource”. Applications must be submitted before 8 April 2024.
World Recycling Day
This initiative, introduced in the United States in 1994 under the name Recycling Day, went global in 2018. While 75% of household packaging is now made from recycled materials, some of the materials used come from the oceans.
As part of its sponsorship activities, for the past two years Crédit Agricole S.A. has been supporting the UnGestePourLaMer Upcycling programme run by Fondation de la Mer. The programme aims to develop upcycling* capability in seven coastal regions and to work with major French fishing ports to recover marine waste from trawl nets. The foundation recently published the programme’s 2023 results: 77,450 kg of waste were recycled, 36,919 people took part in awareness-raising activities and 640 fishermen harvested 24 metric tons of waste at 10 ports.
* Recovery and transformation of discarded materials into high-quality products.

RECORDING
“Stand up to street harassment”
Why not (re-)watch this talk given during Diversity Week, hosted by CACEIS in partnership with international NGO Right to Be and Fondation des Femmes.

Using the “5D” method (direct, distract, delay, delegate and document), it provides valuable advice on how both victims and witnesses can respond safely.
