Crédit Agricole announces launch of a joint venture with Worldline
After receiving unconditional authorisation from the European Commission, Crédit Agricole and Worldline have reached a new milestone in their partnership, announcing the launch of a joint venture that aims to become a major player in the French merchant payment services market.

The joint venture, whose brand will be unveiled in the near future, will leverage Worldline’s technological excellence and capacity for innovation, particularly in payment acceptance, as well as the Crédit Agricole group’s performance in the French merchant acquiring market. It will also develop business with merchants while proactively supporting the Crédit Agricole group’s retail banks.

At the first Board meeting, held on 19 March 2024, Laurent Bennet, CEO of Crédit Agricole des Savoie and Chairman of CAPS, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors and Meriem Echcherfi was appointed Chief Executive.
In brief
In brief
Polish regulations require banks to provide their customers with an e-mail address for credit-related documents. In that way, Crédit Agricole Bank Polska has launched its e-delivery box, the electronic equivalent of registered letters with acknowledgement of receipt. This service ensures secure correspondence between the bank, customers, partners and other institutions and public entities. In particular, the e-delivery box guarantees that the contents have not been altered or tampered with after being sent to the addressee.

“Off the charts”
As the Copenhagen Climate Ministerial gets underway, bringing together climate leaders and ministers for the first time since COP28, the World Meteorological Organization has published its report on the state of the global climate in 2023 which it describes as “off the charts”. The report says 2023 was the warmest year on record, with the global average temperature 1.45°C above the pre-industrial baseline, and that the number of people suffering acute food insecurity has more than doubled (from 149 million before the pandemic to 333 million in 2023). There was, however, a faint glimmer of hope: renewable energy capacity additions were nearly 50% higher than the previous year at 510 GW – the highest rate of capacity growth in the past two decades.
