Crédit Agricole CIB and CACEIS base their respective operations platforms in Montreal
Following a steady growth of Crédit Agricole CIB business activities in the Americas and CACEIS’ acquisition of Royal Bank of Canada Investor Services (RBC IS) European activities, both entities have decided to set up their respective operations platforms in Montreal, Quebec.
This decision is underpinned in particular by a desire to boost operational efficiency and handle the increase in the number of transactions completed and services delivered in the Americas region, capitalising on the convenience of the time zone and on the ease of access to a diverse and competitive talent pool. Both entities will be based on the same premises.
Crédit Agricole CIB’s platform, called Crédit Agricole Services & Operations, will eventually have all support functions represented. Meanwhile, CACEIS will manage legacy business currently being transferred from Toronto as well as business recently acquired from RBC on behalf of North American customers, under a “follow-the-sun” model.
Both entities should be fully operational in Montreal by Q3 2024.
* The Follow the Sun model consists in application of processes over different time zones when a company has head offices in multiple countries.

Relatively few people know basic first aid. To remedy this, Crédit Agricole Centre Ouest has decided to organise “Life-saving techniques” training sessions in a new format: held in the branches, each session has a mixed audience of customers, directors and employees. This training is also being offered to staff at the Limoges and Châteauroux head offices. An initiative that is fully aligned with the Group’s societal and mutualist values.

What is the AI Act, the EU's upcoming regulation on artificial intelligence?
The aim of this regulation is to ensure that AI systems are safe and compliant with human rights and European values, while supporting innovation. It sets out different risk levels for people and defines the associated obligations.

Unanimously endorsed by the members of the Council of the European Union and then by the European Parliament, the legislative process for this text is almost complete and the AI Act is expected to enter into force in June 2024.

Recently made public, the text of the AI Act is currently being analysed by the AI Design Authority.

In this video, Matthieu Capron, Head of the AI Design Authority, presents the key elements of the December 2023 public agreement.
