In brief
The Centre-est and Nord de France Regional Banks have played an active role in the construction of the industrial methanation unit in Belleville-en-Beaujolais. Together they made a comprehensive offer to cover the €8 million needed to finance the debt. Crédit Agricole Centre-est has a relationship with the community and with the SEMOP* that initiated the project. Crédit Agricole Nord de France acted as Agent and Arranger in conjunction with the operator Agriopale Services. The unit will ultimately produce 350 Nm3 of biomethane per hour, representing an injected volume of 28.65 GWh/year which will power the equivalent of 5,200 homes.

Many Europeans
do not understand the basics of economics
According to a Eurobaromètre survey conducted in 2023, nearly half of all Europeans do not understand basic economic and financial concepts, including inflation. Only 18% of EU citizens demonstrated a high level of financial comprehension. The highest performing countries were the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland and Estonia. 65% of those questioned did know that during periods of inflation, their buying power diminishes and they can therefore buy less than they could previously with the same money.
