First edition of Les Rencontres du Numérique by CA to be held on 18 and 19 June on the topic of AI and humanity
The advent of generative AI will change both our tools and how we use them. The first Les Rencontres du Numérique will be an opportunity to better understand the practical implications of AI for our day-to-day lives and our business lines.

Open to all Group employees, the event, structured around talks, debates and discussion workshops, will be held both face to face at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Yvelines) campus and remotely.

It will run for three half-days, bringing together Group employees, scientists, sociologists, philosophers, partners, start-ups and more besides to explore the challenges brought about by this major technological shift.

That’s how much extra the European Union will have to invest each year to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. It equates to 3.7% of GDP*. In France, the additional net annual investment is estimated at €66 billion**, which equates to around 2.4% of GDP.
Against this substantial need for investment, Europe had excess private sector savings equivalent to over 4% of GDP in 2023. After deducting public deficits, the European Union’s net financing capacity is estimated at 1.8% of GDP, equating to more than €300 billion.

Unemployment at its lowest level since the introduction of the euro
The ECB says unemployment fell to 6.5% in February 2024, its lowest level since the introduction of the euro. At the same time, labour market tensions continue to gradually ease, as reflected in the declining number of open job offers. Employment was up 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2023, driven by a higher labour force participation rate and population growth, with no increase in the number of hours worked.

Does cybersecurity generate emissions?
Cybersecurity isn’t just a range of technologies that work together to secure our IT systems. It encompasses the IT ecosystem in its entirety, including in particular sustainable practices. In this voice note, Alice Glanard, Chief Information Security Officer for the Crédit Agricole group, demystifies the relationship between cybersecurity and sustainable IT in an informative new format published on the Crédit Agricole group’s LinkedIn page.
