Sustainable cities: a new investment opportunity with LCL
In keeping with both its strategy as an urban bank and the Group’s Societal Project, LCL is innovating and expanding its responsible savings range to better meet the expectations of its savings and business customers.

From 24 April to 14 June 2024, in partnership with Crédit Agricole CIB, LCL is offering two green debt instruments:
•    LCL Impact Ville Durable (April 2024) for Retail Banking
•    LCL Autocall City Transition (April 2024) for Private Banking and Wealth Management

All amounts invested in these green debt instruments will be used to finance or refinance sustainable residential property developments.
This means investments will go towards the cost of buying or building energy-efficient properties that comply with thermal regulations and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in the construction sector.

These new investments will provide LCL customers with a way to invest in a savings product that supports the energy transition.
In brief
In brief
Crédit Agricole CIB played a leading role in financing the creation of Spain's largest telecommunications operator through the merger of Orange Spain and MásMóvil, the country's second and fourth largest operators. MasOrange will provide fixed and mobile services to 37 million customers and generate estimated sales of €7.4 billion. This historic €6.6 billion financing transaction illustrates CACIB's expertise and ability to carry out transactions of this scale in the telecommunications market.

A more environmentally friendly way to dye jeans
Over 2.3 billion pairs of jeans are sold worldwide every year, and dyeing jeans is a cumbersome process that uses large amounts of water and chemicals. Danish researchers looking for ways to lower the cost recently developed a new process by modifying a plant enzyme and using LED light. This could also be a way to reduce water pollution in some countries where indigo is used to dye jeans, such as India and China.
