Cooperative shareholding and regional commitment - bank group france credit agricole

The Cooperative Shareholder Weeks at Crédit Agricole’s Regional Banks are being held from 12 to 26 November. This year's theme is regional commitment. Events are planned at Crédit Agricole branches all throughout the regions.

While the definition of the word "cooperative shareholder" or "mutualism" is sometimes unclear to many, the word "commitment" is one we all understand. Each year, Crédit Agricole’s Regional Banks organise "Cooperative Shareholder Weeks". The event takes place over two weeks in November. It brings together board members, employees, cooperative shareholders, customers and partners to focus on a theme. This year, it’s all about regional commitment. Amidst a fragile economy and environment, this theme resonates with us deeply. It invites us to ask ourselves how each of us can act to benefit society on our own level and with our own means.

Working together for our regions

Crédit Agricole’s model has demonstrated its relevance, solidity and modernity. Driven by its values and its status as a leading bank, Crédit Agricole mobilises its community to take action in the interest of its customers and society every single day. As a mutualist bank, it has even made this its raison d’être. The group made formal commitments in the form of a societal project and clearly demonstrates them nationwide every day.

They include: the retention and redistribution of 87.6% of the bank's net income in the region. This is just one deed that proves Crédit Agricole's commitment to act by supporting local initiatives that lead to progress for one and all. To support this movement for the greater good, cooperative shareholder customers and elected representatives from Local Banks also get involved. They take action in the fields of professional and social integration, environmental preservation, improving quality of life for the most vulnerable, building heritage, etc. Read their testimonies.
