History: Crédit Agricole driving innovation

As well adapting its operations to keep in step with technological developments, from its very beginnings Crédit Agricole has worked to support the modernisation of the farming world. Little by little, the Group’s support for innovation broadened out to include not just farmers but rural communities as a whole, and ultimately all of society. As far back as the 1970s, entities dedicated specifically to innovation were put in place, such as FIRE and Unicam. This support was targeted at various different areas, including in particular the environment. Today, the Group continues to support local areas and regions, notably through the Village by CA sites.
