Crédit Agricole S.A.'s exposure to Lehman Brothers group

Following the announcement by Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc that it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the Crédit Agricole SA group hereby provides information on its exposure to the Lehman Brothers group:

• Crédit Agricole S.A. group's credit exposure to the Lehman Brothers group is less than €20 million.

• Crédit Agricole S.A. group does not hold any bonds issued by the Lehman Brothers group.

• The Lehman Brothers group is a counterparty of Crédit Agricole S.A. group in collateralised market transactions. Under prevailing market conditions, as of today, the cost of the possible replacement of these positions is estimated at less than €250 million.
