LCL launches ARIA, the first AI messaging assistant for employees
LCL is continuing its digital transformation with the introduction of ARIA*, the first Generative AI assistant designed to help advisors answer customer emails.

This tool can improve advisors’ responsiveness to emails and is in line with the Bank’s strategy. All the advisors need to do is explain what they want to say and ARIA provides them with a properly written email that is ready to send. They still have control over the response that is ultimately sent to the customer, with the option to amend or add to it, but ARIA makes their lives easier by completing a time-consuming yet important task for them, as well as helping to improve customer satisfaction.

881 LCL advisors (across three regional divisions), one Private Banking department, two Business Line units and the Customer Satisfaction team were invited to test ARIA before its deployment on 26 March. 92% of participants used it during the trial and 82% of those continue to do so.
* ARIA stands for Assistant rédactionnel avec intelligence artificielle in French (editorial assistant with artificial intelligence).

The 15th edition of the Foulées de l’Assurance race took place on 24 March in Bois de Boulogne. Of the 3,200 participants, 38 CA Assurances employees, mobilised via the ASCAA*, and 11 CAMCA employees representing ROAM**, walked or ran for the Adicare association which supports cardiology and cardiac surgery research. CAA stood out by winning the “10 km du cœur” trophy in the Bancassurance category and the CAMCA runners recorded impressive times in the 5 km and 10 km races, raising even more money for Adicare. A fine example of sportsmanship and solidarity.

The international price of cocoa in New York soared to record levels this week (26 March), due to supply shortages caused by poor harvests in West Africa, where most of the world’s beans are grown. The most traded contract in New York has seen its price rise by 130% this year alone. Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana (responsible for 60% of the world’s production) have been experiencing difficult meteorological conditions. An intense heatwave followed by heavy rainfall in December damaged the crops and led to the spread of diseases. These events were combined with rising costs of pesticides and fertilisers that are vital to maintaining crops.

Is the market rise sustainable?
The CAC 40 has climbed nearly 40%, breaking through the symbolic 8,000-point threshold on 8 March. Similarly, the Euro Stoxx 600 has risen around 30%. Across the Atlantic, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 have surged 50% and 42% respectively. These impressive gains have come against an economic backdrop tinged with uncertainty.

Given the exceptional performance of equity markets since they bottomed out in September 2022, is the rise in markets sustainable? Vincent Mortier, Group Chief Investment Officer at Amundi, answers these and other questions on the Synapses YouTube channel.
