Changes in top management at Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux

Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Goodman as Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux (CA Cheuvreux), effective 1 September 2011.
Mr Goodman replaces Jean-Claude Bassien, who has been appointed Global Chief Operating Officer, based in Hong Kong and in charge of the integration of CA Cheuvreux and CLSA.
Furthermore, Jonathan Slone, Chairman & CEO of CLSA, has been appointed Chairman of CA Cheuvreux.
These changes in governance are a result of the equity brokerage partnership between Crédit Agricole CIB and CITIC Securities that was announced in June 2011.
Jeremy Goodman has held senior positions at CA Cheuvreux since joining the firm’s equity sales team in 1998. He became the Head of Hedge Fund Sales in 2003 and was appointed Global Head of Institutional Sales in July 2010. Mr Goodman, 50, is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK.
Jean-Claude Bassien, who was appointed as Chairman & CEO of CA Cheuvreux in May 2010, joined the firm as Human Resources Director in February 1991. He was then promoted to Secretary General and became a member of the Executive Committee in 1996, before being appointed as Executive Vice President in 1999 and Deputy CEO in 2003. Mr Bassien, 48, is a graduate from Sciences Po Paris and holds a master’s degree in law.
Jonathan Slone has been Chairman of CLSA since July 2009. He joined the firm in 1988 as Regional Research Director. In 1991, Mr Slone moved to New York to establish CLSA's US operations. While still at CLSA in New York, he founded G-Trade Services in February 1999, which became the largest electronic broker of non-dollar equities in the world within two years. Mr Slone returned to Asia in September 2005 to assume responsibility for CLSA's global broking operations. Mr Slone, 49, holds a BA in political science from Bard College in the US.
