Paris, 3 may 2010 - Crédit Agricole S.A. has signed an agreement regarding the sale by Crédit Agricole S.A. of 100% of Credit Uruguay Banco, its retail banking subsidiary in Uruguay, to BBVA Uruguay. Before the agreement becomes definitive, it must be approved by Uruguay's and Spain's financial and regulatory authorities.
The sale forms part of Crédit Agricole S.A.'s plan to refocus its international retail banking business on Europe and the Mediterranean region. This plan was announced at the time of Crédit Agricole S.A.'s capital increase in 2008.
