83% of Crédit Agricole S.A. shareholders elected to receive the dividend in shares

The option of receiving dividends in Crédit Agricole S.A. shares was available from Friday 27 May to Friday 10 June 2016 inclusive and was taken up by 83% of shareholders.

To recap, shareholders, approved the payment of a dividend of €0.60 per share for 2015 at Crédit Agricole S.A.’s Ordinary General Meeting on Thursday 19 May 2016. As provided for in the Articles of Association, shares held in registered form for at least two years at 31 December 2015 and still held at the dividend payment date qualify for a dividend payment enhanced by 10%, or an additional €0.06 per share. At the same Annual General Meeting, shareholders were also offered the option of receiving the dividend in cash or in shares. The stock dividend payment resulted in the issuance of 169,963,858 new ordinary shares, increasing the share capital by almost 6.5%. The shares were delivered and admitted to trading on Euronext Paris today.

These new shares carry dividend rights as of 1 January 2016 and have the same rights as the existing ordinary shares in Crédit Agricole S.A. As a result of the transaction, the share capital now amounts to €8,427,872,445, divided into 2,809,290,815 fully paid up ordinary shares with par value of €3 each.

The cash dividend will be paid from today.
