Crédit Agricole implements its Societal Project through a CSR strategy that is integrated into its business model. With governance of environmental and social impacts at the highest level and the integration of ESG criteria into processes, it is transforming all the group's business lines. The Group's CSR strategy is fully in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Taking environmental action based on a scientific approach
The Group's environmental strategy is based on scientific and academic data from the committee created in 2019, made up of 11 independent experts who are recognised for their expertise in climate and environmental issues.
It is aligned with:
- The objectives enshrined in the Paris Agreement and the Net Zero 2050 alliances;
- The recommendations of the International Energy Agency;
- The recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-Related Disclosure (TCFD);
- The recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
It is subdivided into:
- A climate transition plan which focuses on three key areas:
- Accelerating low-carbon energy development;
- Supporting the transitions of our customers and society;
- Divesting from the fossil fuel sector.
- Structural commitments to protect biodiversity and natural capital.

Our social strategy is based on three key pillars, and is a strong expression of the values of inclusion and social cohesion that Crédit Agricole has defended since its creation in 1885. This involves :
- Providing an inclusive range of products and services, accessible to all
- Helping to revitalise local areas and support the professional integration of younger generations
- Acting as a responsible employer
