To help society move towards a more sustainable and socially responsible model, Crédit Agricole is broadening its range of products and services and working with those involved in these changes. As a long-standing partner of local communities, the Group works to strengthen social cohesion by helping to revitalise local areas and supporting the development of new forms of trade, such as the circular economy.
Contribution to SDGs:
Responding to society's healthcare needs: Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires
Created in December 2023, Crédit Agricole Santé & Territoires aims to respond to two major social challenges: facilitating access to healthcare for the French in a context of increasing medical desertification, and helping society to an ageing population at a time when France is undergoing a profound demographic shift.
Supporting players who promote social cohesion
The Group has an active policy of working with players in the social economy and the world of associations. In addition to our financial support in the form of grants, endowments, scholarships and matching funds, we are developing a dynamic policy of corporate sponsorship and employee commitment.
Crédit Agricole Group entities provide support for projects with the aim of optimising their impact, throughout France and internationally (particularly in Italy). Find out more about the Group's sponsorship policy...
Encouraging the development of the circular economy
Crédit Agricole supports the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy, which makes minimal resource use a key tool for social and environmental transformation. The Group is active in the field of the circular economy through:
- the adaptation of its products and services to guide customer demand and behaviour in favour of sustainability;
- the introduction of initiatives designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce the company's operational footprint;
- waste management
A few initiatives :
- In the IT equipment sector, Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring is pursuing its ambition to become a key player in the circular economy, mainly through mobility and IT equipment for its professional customers, businesses, farmers and local authorities. It relies on its subsidiary Olinn , a company that facilitates access to employment for people with disabilities, to support its customers across the entire value chain of an IT fleet, from the leasing of new and/or reconditioned equipment through to its reuse, including management and associated services.
- In the property sector, Crédit Agricole Immobilier incorporates reused materials into its activities. Since 2020, it has been involved in the Booster du Réemploi, which brings together players in the sector and aims to encourage the development of materials reuse through training sessions and a collaborative platform. In both new-build and renovation projects, the use of reused materials is systematically studied.
- The Group's asset managers, such as CPRAM through CPR Invest - Circular Economy or Amundi through its solidarity funds that invest in unlisted shares in circular economy companies, offer investors the opportunity to support the development of the circular economy.
- Agilauto Partage , a joint subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility and Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factory, is the Group's leading electric car-sharing service for rural areas and businesses.
- Recycling used cards: to reduce the impact of plastic waste and as part of a circular economy approach, the Crédit Agricole, in collaboration with Crédit Agricole Payment Services, has been progressively rolling out a recycling system for used cards at 35 Regional Banks since 2013.
- Encouraging the development of the circular economy in the agri-food and agricultural sector: the Crédit Agricole supports production via the circular economy by developing short distribution channels, reducing food waste and reducing on packaging. The Crédit Agricole is one of the founding members of the SOLAAL association.
