Crédit Agricole Ukraine among the top three players in the Ukrainian trade finance market
Crédit Agricole Ukraine is now one of the top three players in the Ukrainian trade finance market, with an off balance sheet transaction portfolio of almost UAH 4 billion at the beginning of June 2020.
The portfolio grew by UAH 1.6 billion over the first five months of this year. And, in spite of lockdown, the trend in new transactions has even increased over a rolling one-year period. The fact that CAU is part of the Crédit Agricole group has contributed to the stability of its market positions. The diversity of its customer base, whether by size (multinationals, SMEs, etc.) or business sector (agri-food, pharmaceutical, automotive, retail, etc.), also contributes to its strong performance.
CAU and its TF team, both Front- and Back-Office, have managed to shift to telework mode without interruption of any single trade contract of corporate clients. Documentary transactions, until now essentially involving paper docs, have outnumbered deals of 2019, itself a record year in CAU TF activity. This unprecedented experience would drive further investments in digitalization of TF workflow.
