Crédit Agricole announces the launch of Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel
A new division dedicated to the preservation, regeneration and enhancement of natural capital
Crédit Agricole has created a new division, Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel, to provide long-term support to businesses, investors and local stakeholders as they address challenges related to the preservation and restoration of natural resources.
Forests are the first operational focus, with support from EcoTree, a leading partner in the restoration of Europe’s ecosystems. Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel will rely on the launch of a new fund dedicated to the restoration of forest ecosystems, “Amundi Arbora Nova”, with the aim of mobilising €200 million.
Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel will also draw on the entirety of the Group's expertise to offer advisory, financing, insurance and investment solutions to players committed to this transition.
From 2027, the scope of the division will gradually be expanded to include other components of natural capital, including water and biodiversity.
This initiative is driven by the conviction that preserving natural capital is both a major environmental challenge and an opportunity to create sustainable value for territories, businesses, and investors.
Timothée Jaulin has been appointed Head of the Natural Capital Division, responsible for managing its roll-out and accelerating its development. He reports to Jean-Pierre Touzet, Head of the Agri-Agro, Guarantee and Growth Capital Division, under the direction of Grégory Erphelin, Deputy Managing Director of Crédit Agricole S.A., in charge of the Transformation, Human Resources and Transitions Division.
