The unprecedented winds of violence that hit the Mayotte archipelago on Saturday 14 December has claimed numerous victims in Mayotte, destroyed a large number of infrastructure and caused immeasurable damage throughout the territory.

People are now facing difficulties in getting supplies and emergency services.
To support the communities and help deal with the emergency, the Crédit Agricole Group has made an exceptional donation of €1 million via the La Réunion-Mayotte Regional Bank and the Crédit Agricole Solidarity & Development Foundation*.

The La Réunion-Mayotte Regional Bank has already pledged support to food banks and the French Red Cross to help deliver rescue equipment, food and sanitation kits to Mayotte. Other organisations, yet to be named, will also benefit from this donation.

The situation there is being closely monitored and contact is being made with employees there as often as possible.

* Chaired by Dominique Lefebvre, the Crédit Agricole Solidarity & Development Foundation works to help people in difficulty achieve socio-economic independence.
